About Us
Discover our story, our people, and our deep connection to the sacred lands of the Wabanaki.
Our Story
Wolastokwiyik Nawicowok The Sacred Land Trust Inc. was founded with a sacred purpose: to protect, preserve, and return ancestral lands to the Wabanaki people of New Brunswick and the broader Wabanaki Confederacy territory.
The Wabanaki—meaning "People of the Dawn"—have inhabited this land for over 12,000 years. Our ancestors were the first to greet the rising sun on this continent, and their deep connection to the land, water, and all living beings continues to guide our work today.
Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on the traditional and unceded territory of the Wolastoqey Nation, we are committed to honoring treaties, respecting the land, and ensuring that future generations can continue the traditions of their ancestors.
